The University of Hawaii at Hilo volleyball team fell in five sets to Hawaii Pacific in a Pacific West Conference match on Friday night on Oahu.

Behind Chelsey Buyuan’s 24 digs, the Sea Warriors topped the Vulcans 25-16, 25-17, 18-25, 28-30, 15-10 at St. Andrew’s Priory Gym.

The Vuls (5-1 overall, 0-1 PacWest) were outplayed in every aspect of the game, hitting, blocking, digging, and serving.

The Sea Warriors (7-2, 1-0) posted a better hitting percentage (.158 to .078), block total (15.5 to 10), digging numbers (71 to 57) and more aces (12 to 7).

Callie Aberle led the Vuls with 16 kills but hit only .149 and committed nine errors on 47 swings.

Pomai Recca led HPU with 14 kills.
